FSU football has done a solid job of connecting with 2022 recruits. Five-star wide receiver Luther Burden is high on the Noles.

FSU football has done good work on its 2021 recruiting class with 15 commitments. However, they have used the pandemic to their advantage in making up ground on its 2022 recruiting class.

The Noles have offered 197 players from that class, with 34 offers going to wide receivers. Three of those wide receivers are considered five-star prospects.

The second-highest ranked wide receiver in 2022 has listed Noles in his top 12 list. Five-star Luther Burden dropped his list late Friday night via his Twitter account:

Burden hails from Saint Louis, Missouri, and holds 40 offers from all of the major colleges out there. His final list of 12 tells you all you need to know: FSU, Alabama, LSU, Penn State, Auburn, Ohio State, Missouri, Baylor, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, and Illinois.

He checks in at 6’2″ and 194 pounds and is considered the No. 14 player nationally, No. 2 wide receiver, and No. 1 player in the state of Missouri.

Burden continues the trend of FSU evaluating and offering players that play more than football. Burden is also a standout basketball player.

The Noles are one of the later schools to offer Burden on May 6 and make his final list of 12 schools. For perspective, Oklahoma was the first to offer the wide receiver on February 19, 2019.

There are no 247 Crystal Ball predictions at this time, but teams like Ohio State, Oklahoma, Alabama will be hard to beat for his services.

The Noles will likely lose Tamorrion Terry and D.J. Matthews after this season and will likely bring in three wide receivers in the 2021 recruiting class.

The 2022 class will likely see the Noles take another 2-3 wide receivers when accounting for attrition. Mike Norvell has had wide receivers to put up amazing numbers in his offense, so if they look impressive offensively in 2020, it could help the Noles stay in the picture down the stretch.
