Running Backs

Running back is a unit where Deonte Sheffield as the only scholarship running back returning from last year’s squad. Congrats to Sheffield for earning a scholarship Monday as a former walk-on.

There is talent at the position with former four-star Jashaun Corbin expected to take the bulk of the carries.

Former four-star freshman Lawrance Toafili has begun to emerge in fall camp. JUCO transfer La’Damian Webb, true freshmen Corey Wren, and Ja’Khi Douglas will be factors at the position as well.

All of these backs complement one another well and will add variety of looks to the offense.

On paper? These running backs should put up huge numbers rushing and receiving as long as the offensive line doesn’t lie down on the job.

I’d put this ranking higher if the position group had more experience. However, Mike Norvell has historically had production from this group.

Confidence Ranking-6.5(was 7 last year)
