FSU Football: Top 5 unsung players who are standing out in fall camp
By Cole Maines
Meiko Dotson/Jarrian Jones
I put them together because they have a similar story and are neck and neck in almost every sense. Many people thought Dotson was a depth piece, but he has exceeded every expectation.
He has forced turnovers during several practices, which shouldn’t be a coincidence since he led the nation in interceptions last season. His leadership has proved valuable for the younger players in the secondary as well.
Jones was thought more of as an immediate competitor and has reinforced that by showing up in Adam Fuller’s “Mission Takeways” segments on Twitter. He has validated every positive mention from the coaching staff on the field with his play.
They are both competing for playing time at the boundary corner spot beside Asante Samuel Jr. I give the slightest edge to Dotson because of his leadership capabilities and how that’ll translate into the field.
