What will happen in the remaining position battles?

I am mainly talking about special teams. What happens at the returner position? I favor a wide receiver because of their quicker feet, but I could see it going to Asante Samuel or Meiko Doctson because I am of the thought process that “you keep the ball in your best players hand no matter what.”

Ultimately Keyshawn Helton or DJ Mathews will get the nod, like the last couple years. Don’t count out seeing Corey Wren and his speed line up there too.

Will there be a separation in the punting and kicking match ups respectively? Everything we’ve heard is about how neck and neck both competitions are. I like the Aussie punter, Alex Manstromanno, who has some impressive film showing off a big leg.

As for kickers, I currently lean toward Parker Grothaus, just for his experience. Kicking is a mental exercise, and he is just more attuned. I think this competition goes into the season and we will see both of them for the first couple of games.

Who will get more minutes at full back DJ Lundy or Armani Kerr? This is the most fascinating position in that there are no tight ends to repurposed or big-bodied running backs to move over. Norvell has direct oversight over this, and if I were him, I would favor Kerr. Lundy is a more raw and physical player, and I wouldn’t want to stunt his development at linebacker by overwhelming him. (That is not to say Lundy wouldn’t accept the challenge, this is just a preference).

I think Lundy is will see time at linebacker, he already has the physical tools and FSU defensive coordinator Adam Fuller mentioned he thinks he’ll be a contributor this year. Kerr has done the position change before, and his ability to see the game from different angles tips the scales in his favor.
