Final Thoughts

It sucks any time a player is injured and has to miss time away from the game. However, at least it’s an injury to his non-throwing shoulder and one where recovery is relatively quick.

I know Mike Norvell said the young players were not too far behind in learning the playbook, but I always thought it was a stretch for Purdy to come in and win the starting job.

I’ve stated that several times on social media and the uncertainty of the season taking place means there’s no reason for him to rush back.

I know he’s a competitor and will do everything he can to get back on the field this fall. He could play in some games later in this season if it gets to that point.

After all, he can play in up to four games and still receive a redshirt. However, if the season isn’t completed or he doesn’t find his way on the field, it’s not the end of the world.

He can redshirt and get ready to compete for the starting job in 2021.
