FSU football had to endure another social media storm Thursday morning when a couple of players used their platform to voice their opinion.

FSU football coaches have encouraged their players to use their social media platforms to voice their opinions.

That’s what happened Thursday morning when two wide receivers took to Twitter to post vague references of being lied to.

The posts were not directed at anyone, in particular, the way Marvin Wilson called our Mike Norvell a few weeks back.

Mike Norvell spoke with the media at a scheduled press conference about the matters and seemed confused as to why the players felt they were being lied to as well. Here’s what Warren Thompson and D.J. Matthews posted:

It was never clear what they believed were lies. I think it’s a matter of miscommunication in regards to what information they feel they are privy to when it comes to the health of others. Due to HIPPA laws, personal health information can’t be shared.

It was interesting that well-respected players like Jaiden Woodbey, Marvin Wilson, Asante Samuel Jr., and others voiced they were happy with how things have gone:

There were many others too, but those are three upperclassmen who are well-respected. The fact they didn’t confirm or support the statements from Thompson or Matthews is interesting.

Those two players have had issues with the prior coaching staff as well. I’m not calling them out, but it seems like this is more of a misunderstanding than people lying.

Mike Norvell didn’t shy away from making a mistake in the Marvin Wilson situation, but he believes he has done everything in his power to keep the players safe.

To be sure he wouldn’t lie to the press knowing he was called out by Marvin Wilson not long ago? It’s a difficult situation, and we’re dealing with young people in stressful situations. Several players voiced they were happy with how FSU was handling the safety of the players in interviews over the past week.

I know their are two sides to every story and usually the truth is somewhere in the middle, but this story seems to be fairly one-sided based on what’s out there. Can we just get to the Georgia Tech game?
