FSU football: Ranking toughest games on 2020 revamped schedule
By Kelvin Hunt
Virginia
The Noles faced a Virginia Cavaliers team on the road in their third game of the season last year and gave the game away in the fourth quarter.
Virginia finished the season 8-5 last year with Bryce Perkins as the best QB they’ve had in years. He’s on an NFL roster now and no longer there obviously.
The Cavaliers have improved a great deal under Bronco Mendenhall, but they are not a team the Noles should lose to in 2020, especially with Perkins gone.
They lost two of their most productive receivers and key players on the defensive line, linebacker, and in the secondary.
One thing to note is Virginia’s entire offensive line will be back, but realistically Perkins had to run for his life a ton last year, so that’s not saying a ton.
Their strength will likely be on defense as it has been in recent years, but a competent FSU football team should have no problems with Virginia in 2020.
