FSU basketball has been scorching the recruiting trails with its 2021 recruiting class. Can the Noles land another five-star?

FSU basketball has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation with four commits. Leonard Hamilton has two of the top shooting guards in the nation in five-star Bryce McGowen and five-star Matthew Cleveland.

He’s added two seven-footers in the last week in four-star center John Butler and three-star center Naheem McLeod.

However, the Noles are in pursuit of another five-star guard in Jalen Warley.

Warley’s considered the No. 23 player nationally, No. 3 combo-guard, No. 1 player in the state of Pennsylvania.

He announced he’d be committing on August 9, and the Noles are considered one of the favorites:

There are a lot of heavy hitters vying for his commitment with offers from the likes FSU, Michigan, Memphis, Miami, Virginia, Lousiville, Maryland, Xavier, and Oregon, among others.

Michigan seemed to be the favorite, but multiple predictions from writers across different platforms are trending towards FSU basketball over the past day or so.

Leonard Hamilton and staff are coming off of their first ACC regular-season championship with deep runs in the NCAA Tournament the past couple of seasons. They play in historically the best basketball conference, with an exciting brand of basketball, and a proven track record of sending players to the NBA.

Warley would also compliment the McGowens and Cleveland as the primary ball-handler with excellent size. He checks in at 6’4″ and 175 pounds. That’s a lot of height at the guard position along with the twin towers at center.

Did I mention the Noles brought in a seven-footer in the 2020 recruiting class in Quincy Ballard?

IF Warley were to choose the Noles, it would further cement FSU’s narrative of being the “New Blood” among the “Blue Bloods” in college basketball.
