FSU football coaches are still hard at work evaluating players for its 2022 recruiting class. Their latest offer is a playmaker from Virginia.

FSU football coaches are looking to solidify its wide receiver group in the upcoming recruiting classes.

The Noles have three-star South Carolina wide receiver Joshua Burrell committed for the 2021 recruiting cycle.

They’ll likely take at least two more wide receivers in 2021, but they are already concentrating on building relationships with wide receivers for 2022.

The latest offer goes to Virginia wide receiver in Tychaun Chapman. Chapman announced the FSU offer Tuesday night via his Twitter account:

Chapman checks in at 5’10″ and 170 pounds and has 11 offers from the likes of FSU, Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Louisville, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, USC, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and others.

Chapman is considered the No. 93 player nationally, No. 14 wide receiver, and the No. 5 player in the state of Virginia.  There are no 247 Crystal Ball Predictions at this time.

He’s built perfectly for the slot receiver position with excellent speed. For comparison sake, FSU 2020 signee Ja’Khi Douglas ran the 55-meter event in 6.90 seconds as a high school junior. Chapman runs the same event in 6.4 seconds, granted he’s not built as compact as Douglas.

His acceleration is excellent, getting to top speed quickly and is elusive in the open field. He would be a nightmare to match up against in a Mike Norvell offense.

The Noles haven’t had much-recruiting success of late from the Virginia area. It’ll be interesting to see how this new staff can perform in that area if the 2020 season takes place, and they can put a decent product out on the field.

The slot receiver position is one they can easily highlight to show players exactly what their role could be at FSU.
