Clemson

Listen, this isn’t a game anyone is expecting FSU football to win. Even the more homer FSU fans are looking at this game right now and just hoping it’s competitive.

This is a perception game against a ACC Atlantic rival.

Right now, most people and pundits have Clemson right there with Alabama in terms of the two best programs in the country.

This game will be about looking to close the gap perception wise as to give the coaching staff something to point to on the recruiting trails.

Something tangible recruits can look at and say, “OK, I want to join what you’re building to get back to the top and it doesn’t look like it’s going to take too long.”

Another blowout loss like the last few seasons, and that’s going to be a difficult sale on the recruiting trail for a new coaching staff that’s still looking develop ties in the state.
