FSU football continues to lay the groundwork for its 2022 recruiting class. A Texas blue-chip defensive back has taken notice.

FSU football coaches are looking to add the best players possible to get the program back to where it’s supposed to be.

They have 13 commitments and have sent out over 290 scholarship offers for the 2021 recruiting cycle.

They’ve already sent out 190 offers for its 2022 class, and establishing those relationships is paying off.

2022 defensive back Bobby Taylor has the Noles in his top 12. He announced the list via his Twitter account Sunday afternoon:

Taylor hails from Katy, Texas, and has 22 offers from the likes of FSU, Alabama, Arizona State, Baylor, LSU, Boston College, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, and a host of other schools.

He checks in at 6’1″ and 180 pounds and is considered the No. 28 defensive tackle and the No. 32 player in the state of Texas by 247 Sports.

They have him listed as a four-star recruit with crystal ball predictions to Texas A&M (three votes) and Oklahoma (one vote).

Thoughts on his recruitment

Taylor has great size already with a couple of years left in high school. His father played at Notre Dame and spent some time in the NFL. It’s going to be a tough pull for the Noles to get this one.

He’s been offered by all of the major in-state schools along with several other big-time programs, and frankly, FSU could probably find a player of equal or better talent in Florida or Georgia.

He’s been to visit Texas A&M several times and is likely why they lead in the crystal ball predictions. He’s yet to visit FSU and I’ll wait until he does before thinking the staff has a legitimate shot to land him.
