Most FSU football fans have a love/hate relationship with former head coach Jimbo Fisher. The reactions to him getting caught by the NCAA were predictable.
The way Jimbo Fisher quit on the FSU football program still stings Nole fans nearly three years later.
The last couple of years saw the program beginning to slip behind the scenes despite the Noles entering the 2017 season ranked top five.
The program was on such shaky ground, all it took was an injury to Deondre Francois to derail everything.
FSU started the season 1-3 with Fisher’s mishaps on the recruiting trail showing with him having to start a true freshman quarterback in James Blackman.
A loss against Miami at the end of the game and a blowout loss against Boston College where the team quit seemed to be foreshadowing of things to come. Three games later and Jimbo Fisher was throwing his Christmas tree to the curb while on his way to Texas A&M.
It looks like it didn’t take him long to make his presence felt there with the NCAA:
The NCAA announced Thursday that Texas A&M football was placed on one year's probation.

Thoughts
Jimbo Fisher resigned from his job at FSU football on December 1, 2017, and accepted the same role with Texas A&M the same day. So let’s see, college semesters usually end in early December with students not returning until early January.
Jimbo Fisher wasn’t even a month on the job before he started violating NCAA rules. Of course, college coaches of big-time college football programs all break the rules. The key is not getting caught, which never happened while he was at FSU.
However, it is laughable how Texas A&M likes to brag about how they bought Fisher only to be 17-9 over the first two seasons. That’s just a few games better than FSU who misfired on their hire of Willie Taggart.
I wonder who’ll have the better record on the next three year stretch between FSU football and Texas A&M?
