FSU football: How coaching synergy will help ‘Noles offense in 2020

Kendal Briles thought he would have full control of the offense, and he got to hand-pick his offensive line coach in Randy Clements, who he had worked with for years.

Well, Briles had control of his offense(for a little while anyway), but he didn’t have full control over the practices.
Taggart let him run the offense but still would give his input into how he wanted certain things done.
Also, FSU spent way too much time standing around and wasting time during practices in the Willie Taggart era. There was way too much standing around for 20-30 minutes with less than 10 15-20 players participating in the “Nole Drill.”
That will not happen with Mike Norvell as the practices allow the players to get the maximum amount of reps possible in the offense.
The fact Norvell and Dillingham have years of running practices together should make things run much smoother than the past two years as the offense is coordinated between two like-minded individuals who understand what works in their offense.
