FSU football fans are optimistic the Noles will improve upon their product on the field in 2020. Here’s why special teams could be the key to it all.

How important are special teams? FSU football head coach Mike Norvell highlighted that phase of the game during his introductory press conference.

Most of the time a coach will talk about the phase he specializes in the most. An offensive-minded coach will talk about the offense, or a defensive-minded coach will talk about the defense.

However, Mike Norvell highlighting special teams coupled with FSU special teams being anything but special the past few years was music to the ears of FSU fans.

There are all types of conversations going around regarding how many games can the Noles win in 2020.

I’ve been consistent I expect them to win at least eight games. Yes, missing most of the spring has me concerned a bit more since they won’t have the same time to implement and practice the offensive and defensive schemes.

However, the more I think about it if they can make improvements on special teams and the defense can be what we think it can be under Adam Fuller?

The defense is going to be the strength of this team while the offense will be a work in progress. That could be the difference for the Noles in the 2020 season.
