FSU football: Impact of 2020 signee Manny Rogers going to JUCO
By Kelvin Hunt
Final Thoughts
First of all, I hope everything works out for Manny Rogers. Sometimes in life, disappointment can create the best learning experiences, and here’s to hoping he can eventually wear the garnet and gold.
The other elephant in the room is defensive tackle recruiting as a whole. I know the Noles have not put the best product on the field for the past three years. A team going 18-20 over the last three seasons can make it harder to recruit, especially in the trenches where there simply are not that many blue-chip difference makers.
However, I expect FSU football to have a dominant defensive line in 2020. If that’s the case, and the defensive tackle recruiting doesn’t improve for 2021?
Well, it might be time to take a look at who’s doing what on the recruiting trails the past few years. Odell Haggins has been able to get and develop quality players in Tallahassee for a long time, and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt.
However, the Noles need to get back to being in contention for and landing elite players at this position if they expect to play for the conference and national championships.
