FSU football is looking for playmakers that fit a need on the team. A four-star defensive back has the Noles in his final top six list of schools.

FSU football has seized some recruiting momentum in the last few weeks. They’ve landed several 2021 commitments while being in a solid position with several more targets.

They have 10 commitments total with about 12 or so spots left in the class, but of course, that could change with attrition on the roster or among the commitments.

FSU got some good news Monday afternoon when four-star defensive back Omarion Cooper listed the Noles in his final six lists of schools.

He announced via his Twitter account below:

Cooper hails from Lehigh Acres, Florida, and has 27 offers from the likes of FSU, Louisville, Michigan, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Miami, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and others.

He checks in at 6’0″ and 170 pounds and is considered the No. 271 ranked player nationally, No. 18 cornerback, and the No. 40 player in the state of Florida.

Thoughts on his recruitment

FSU football leads the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictions with one vote, but that was nearly a year ago. The thing that sticks out about Cooper is his length. He has a wingspan of 76″, and that was from nearly a year and a half ago, so that’s probably bigger by now.

That length is coveted because of having to deal with the size of many of wide receivers the Noles face each week. He’s listed as a cornerback but could play safety too once he got into a college strength and conditioning program.

Cooper was offered by the old staff, and he attended the Saturday Night Lights event last July. The good news is Mike Norvell and staff were able to get Cooper on campus during their first junior day in January of this year.
