FSU football should have won more than six games last season. One writer thinks they could win 10 games in 2020 under Mike Norvell.

FSU football is 18-20 the past three seasons, which is far below expectations in Tallahassee, and it has been a combination of things that have contributed to that record.

Tough schedules, bad injury luck, and poor coaching over those seasons would be the main culprits with the latter two being most important.

As bad as things were in 2019, the Noles could have easily won nine or 10 games despite quarterback, offensive line, special teams, and defensive issues.

The majority of the talent is still on the team, as only Cam Akers was selected in the most recent NFL Draft. Could coaching make up that big of a difference with everything else being equal? CBS Sports writer Chip Patterson seems to think so as he gives a bold prediction the Noles will win 10 games in 2020:

"Florida State will win 10 games: These aren’t called soft predictions, so here’s to stepping out on a limb for first-year coach Mike Norvell and a Florida State team that I think was better than its record in 2019. The Seminoles held fourth-quarter leads in losses to Boise State, Wake Forest and Virginia — all teams that won eight or more games and were ranked in the top 25 at some point in the season. While the inability to close out wins contributed to the decision to fire Willie Taggart, the narrow margins suggest FSU was closer to 9-3 than 6-6. Norvell has the disadvantage of limited work before things got shut down, but I’m calling for a four-win turnaround in 2020."

It would be nice to see for FSU football fans who haven’t experienced a 10 win season since the Orange Bowl victory over Michigan in 2016.

Is it something that could happen though?
