FSU football: Noles offer 2021 defensive end Khristian Zachary
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football coaches are still hard at work evaluating players in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Their latest offer is from Georgia at a huge position of need.
FSU football is looking towards the future in filling holes on their roster at defensive end.
The Noles will lose Joshua Kaindoh and Janarius Robinson after the 2020 season and will need playmakers to take their spot.
The latest offer to a player with hopes of doing that is a three-star weakside defensive end, Khristian Zachary.
Zachary is the 15th WDE the Noles have offered in this recruiting cycle. He hails from Carrollton, Georgia, and holds 20 offers from the likes of FSU, Alabama, Boston College, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and others.
Zachary announced the offer from FSU defensive ends coach John Papuchis via his Twitter account:
Thoughts
He checks in at 6’3″ and 245 pounds and is considered the No. 387 ranked player nationally, No. 23 WDE, and No. 32 player in Georgia.
The good news is Zachary’s hometown is a straight shot four and a half hours or so south to Tallahassee.
The Noles already have one commitment from strong side defensive end Joshua Farmer in the class, and adding Zachary would be huge in addressing the position of need.
Six of the 15 players offered have committed to other programs with Zachary being a hair away from being rated as a four-star player. Of the 15 offers, only five are from either Florida or Georgia.
There are no 247 Crystal Ball predictions for Zachary, so it looks like his recruitment could be wide open.
Zachary hasn’t had a chance to visit FSU yet, but has visited junior days at Florida and Tennessee this spring. We’ll see if the Noles will be able to get him on campus once everything gets back to normal.
