Asante Samuel Jr.

Asante Samuel Jr. is the lone player listed that was not a part of the 2017 recruiting class. He checks in as the No. 8 cornerback on the list.

A former top 60 player nationally and the No. 9 ranked cornerback out of high school, Samuel has cemented himself as one of the top cornerbacks in the nation.

What he lacks in ideal height and length he makes up for in smarts, technique, and pound-for-pound might have the most dog mentality on the team.

Here’s a prime example of what I mean:

Samuel Jr. rarely gets beat badly and usually forces the receiver to make a contested catch if the pass is completed.

He’s someone who’s NFL Combine performance could bump him up a bit too. I expect him to have a good 40 time and one of the better shuttles at the NFL Combine.
