FSU football continues to search for the right players in its 2021 recruiting class. The latest offer goes to an offensive tackle.

FSU football fans understand the need for offensive tackles in its recruiting classes. It’s been a position of need for years now, and the coaching staff has been targeting them heavily.

The Noles have sent out 37 offers to offensive linemen for this recruiting cycle, and 26 of those offers have gone to offensive tackles.

The latest offer goes to Jacoby Jackson, who hails from Arlington, Texas. It’s the second 2021 offensive tackle offered in as many days with the Noles offering Rod Orr Saturday.

He announced his offer via his Twitter account Sunday:

Jackson is considered the No. 916 player nationally, No. 86 offensive tackle and the No. 147 player overall in the state of Texas.

He checks in at 6’6″ and 305 pounds with 36 offers from schools like FSU, Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Purdue, TCU, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, and several other smaller schools.

Thoughts

I think it’s a good offer from the Noles at this point. They likely are not going to get any of the top-rated offensive tackles out there.

I like that in-state programs like Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech feel he’s good enough to offer too, although he doesn’t have an offer from the Longhorns.

It’s also a good sign the coaching staff isn’t playing the waiting game for the top targets to come off the board before trying to build relationships with other players.

This should prevent them from being behind the eight-ball when it gets to crunch-time. Jackson has the size, and has a shuttle time from The Opening that’s not terrible.

He’s the not most explosive player, but he’s someone that could be molded into a viable option down the road with good coaching. He wouldn’t have 30+ offers if that wasn’t the case.
