Transfer Portal

The 2020 recruiting class was all about salvaging things, trying to find the best possible players available in a short amount of time without wasting scholarships just to meet a number.

The coaching staff did about as well as one could hope for under the circumstances, addressing numbers at key positions.

Of course, finishing No. 22 in the nation in recruiting isn’t meeting the standard, but context is important here.

It should be noted the coaching staff has added several important pieces to the 2020 class that will not count towards improving the overall ranking.

They’ve added seven players from the transfer portal, including four who will be eligible to play in 2020 with the possibility of a couple more getting their appeals approved by the NCAA.

These players have college experience under their belt and could each log hundreds of snaps this fall (if we have a season).

The good news is they still may not be done as there are still a few targets in the portal with the possibility of more becoming available each day.
