FSU football: Is Rashad Greene a top 3 all-time receiver?
By Kelvin Hunt
Final Thoughts
It’s a tough call. I have Peter Warrick as the No. 1 wide receiver in FSU football history, and he appeared in 43 career games at FSU.
Greene appears in eight more games but has 313 more receiving yards and 63 more receptions with Warrick having two more touchdowns than Greene.
Ron Sellers appears in 20 fewer games but only has 58 fewer receptions and 232 fewer receiving yards.
Fred Biletnikoff had a tremendous senior season, leading the nation in several categories and left FSU football while holding several records.
The thing that hurts Biletnikoff is Sellars came shortly after him and obliterated all of his records. Sellars has 112 more receptions and almost 2,000 more receiving yards while playing in a similar number of games.
So right now, I’d have to say I’d have Warrick at No. 1 and Sellars at No. 2 because of his productivity in way fewer games than Rashad Greene.
Then it comes down to Greene and Biletnikoff. Greene appeared in way more games but was also the more consistent player over his career.
The way Sellers came in and blew away what Biletnikoff accomplished just a few years after his career finished takes away from Biletnikoff.
So, yes I’d have to say I’d put Rashad Greene was a top-three all-time receiver at FSU.
