FSU football: Can Noles make up recruiting ground during dead period?

Elite Players
As I’ve mentioned before, the staff was behind on the 2021 class to no fault of their own. Mike Norvell was hired in the first week in December with about 10 days before the Early Signing Period and had to finish out the 2020 class.
Most of the other top programs had already wrapped up their classes and turned their attention to 2021 and beyond.
That meant FSU football had to play catchup, and the probability of them making up ground in the relationship-building department with elite players was fairly low.
I believe the FSU coaching staff is doing a solid job of not spending too much time on elite players they have virtually no chance in signing.
This dead period likely means the schools that have forged those relationships with elite players are spending time keeping those relationships fresh as best they can.
That means there are other solid blue-chip recruits the Noles can spend time building those relationships with, so when this dead period ends they’ll be in a position to get them to campus.
