Dalvin Cook

I listed Warrick Dunn as arguably the greatest running back in FSU football history. However, Dalvin Cook is the greatest running back in FSU history.

Cook broke all of Dunn’s rushing records and is the FSU all-time leader in rushing yards, touchdowns, and the single-season record-holder for rushing yards.

He was a two-time First Team All-ACC performer and two-time First Team All-American. Cook was a second-team All-ACC performer as a true freshman.

He was finished seventh in the Heisman voting in 2015 and 10th in the voting in 2016. Cook was a victim of playing on FSU teams that suffered some bad losses early in the season that largely took him out of the running for consideration.

However, he was awarded the Jim Brown award in 2016 as the nation’s top running back. Cook was selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings with the No. 41 overall pick.

He made the Pro Bowl this past season first the first time after battling injuries his first two seasons in the NFL.
