FSU football has one of the most explosive players in the nation with wide receiver Tamorrion Terry. Is he a top 50 returning playing in 2020?

FSU football received great news in December when redshirt sophomore Tamorrion Terry announced he’d be returning to the Noles for his junior season.

Most thought there was a solid shot he’d declare early for the NFL Draft after posting 60 receptions for 1,180 yards and nine touchdowns.

After all, his production came with mediocre quarterback play and an inconsistent offense overall. His return, along with Marvin Wilson, meant FSU’s two best players on offense and defense would be back in 2020.

Athlon Sports announced its early top 50 returning players for 2020 recently. Wilson checked in at No. 16 and Terry was nowhere to be found on the list.

Terry didn’t even make the just missed list, which is rather absurd considering some of the names listed.

How in the world is Miami quarterback D’Eriq King listed at No. 43 when he redshirted last season? Clemson’s Justyn Ross can make the list at No. 34 and his numbers are not as good as Terry’s was last year. Alabama’s Jaylen Waddle’s numbers were not as good as Terry’s last year, but he can appear at No. 30?

Thoughts

King should be listed considering, he missed last year and is playing for a new team and a new set of coaches. No doubt, Ross and Waddle are extremely talented and will put up numbers. However, this was supposed to be a returning player’s list right?

That means the list should be based on what has taken in the past and what should portend to take place in 2020.

Terry saw his production increase despite playing with three different quarterbacks in 2020. He has good chemistry with James Blackman, so who’s to say he won’t put up larger numbers in 2020?

Terry’s done enough the past two years to be on the list or at least in the just missed list portion.
