FSU football: Noles make top 8 for 2021 OG Jared Wilson
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has needed help along its offensive line in the past few recruiting cycles. Three-star 2021 OG Jared Wilson is interested in the Noles.
FSU football needs help at the offensive line position in 2021. The Noles have failed to address the line with quality players who can play early in the past few recruiting cycles.
The Noles don’t have any offensive linemen committed for the 2021 class and will likely need to take 4-5 signees.
The good news is Mike Norvell and staff have done a good job of recognizing the deficiencies on the roster and have been working diligently to fix the issue.
Three-star offensive guard Jared Wilson announced his top eight schools Sunday afternoon, and the Noles were listed:
Wilson hails from Clemmons, North Carolina, and holds 13 offers from likes of FSU, North Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, NC State, South Carolina, Syracuse, and others.
He’s considered the No. 383 player nationally and No. 21 offensive guard in the nation and the No. 22 ranked player in North Carolina.
He’s 6’3″ 325 pounds with a number of big-time programs vying for his commitment. The good news is the primary recruiter for the Noles is offensive line coach Alex Atkins who coached in North Carolina last year at Charlotte which isn’t far from where Wilson resides.
FSU football offered on January 10th, 2020, and was the last school he visited before the coronvirus pandemic shut down visitations.
Georgia currently leads the 247 crystal ball predictions with 75 percent (3 of 4) of the current votes. North Carolina has been hot on the recruiting trails with in-state talent as well.
FSU needs offensive tackles more than guards, but Wilson’s offer list tells you all you need to know.
Can the Noles get him back on campus? The only problem is we have no time frame of when the temporary dead period will be lifted due to issues related to COVID-19. Nevertheless, it’s better to be listed in the final eight than not!
