Preseason Expectations

FSU basketball lost Mfiondu Kabengele and Terrance Mann to the NBA Draft after last season ended in the Sweet 16.

They also lost other valuable players like Phil Cofer, Christ Koumadje, and P.J. Savoy. For those reasons and what the Noles had returning, they were predicted to finish fifth in the ACC behind the following teams:

  • Duke (51)
  • North Carolina (19)
  • Louisville (29)
  • Virginia (12)

FSU bested three of those teams in North Carolina and Louisville twice, losing to both Duke and Virginia on the road by five points.

They avenged their previous conference loss against Pittsburgh, and their only other conference loss was by one point at the buzzer against Clemson on the road.
