Position Change

I mentioned earlier Stanford Samuels III played some safety at FSU during his sophomore season.

A move to safety in the NFL could be something to consider if he’s not able to improve his speed at his FSU Day.

It’s something FSU great Deion Sanders mentioned after seeing Samuels run at the NFL Combine.

It’s almost like he knew he’d post a slow time because he said let’s pray for this 40 just before Samuels III ran the first time.

His length is a commodity that can’t be taught, and he has shown the ability to be physical, despite only weighing between 185-190 pounds.

The season he played some safety is when he saw his biggest year in terms of interceptions.

He’d likely need to add some weight to be more effective coming downhill against the run in the NFL, but it’s more likely he can do that rather than getting noticeable faster.

NFL.com had him graded as a player that would be a good backup with the potential to be a starter, but that was before disappointing 40 times.
