Cyrus Fagan

The FSU secondary wasn’t great last season, it wasn’t as bad as the 2018 campaign, but there’s lots of room for improvement.

One player that should have had more of an impact was Cyrus Fagan. The four-star safety came to FSU in the 2017 class as the No. 97 player overall and the No. 13 ranked safety in the nation.

Fagan has great length and size at 6’2 and 190 pounds but played injured in 2018 while showing some flashes in 2019 with 41 tackles in only eight games.

He also chipped in with a huge interception against Louisville, two passes broken up and one fumble return.

When healthy he’s a player that’s capable of being productive and should have had a couple more interceptions had he not dropped the ball last season.

He’ll see time at safety as that’s likely the area of the secondary teams will try to exploit with Asante Samuel Jr. and Akeem Dent manning the cornerback positions. Fagan could have a productive 2020 if he can stay healthy and not miss so much time with injuries.
