Honorable Mention

I expect a few more true freshmen to see the field in 2020. I was tempted to put the following players on my list but didn’t for one reason or another:

  • Corey Wren (Not an Early Enrollee)
  • TJ Davis Not an Early Enrollee
  • Tate Rodemaker (Can he beat out the other QB’s?)
  • Bryan Robinson (Depth at WR)

It’s hard to true freshmen wide receivers to make an impact. It’s one reason why I wasn’t too upset Malachi Wideman didn’t sign with FSU. The reason I put Douglas over Wren and Robinson was that he was an early enrollee and he’s versatile.

TJ Davis could see some snaps, but not being an early enrollee hurt his chances. Plus there are two seniors at defensive end in Janarius Robinson and Joshua Kaindoh.

It’s big for Tate Rodemaker to be an early enrollee as a quarterback. It gives him a leg up on Chubba Purdy in terms of preparation and acclimation to college. Can he beat out James Blackman, Jordan Travis and Purdy though? I’m not 100 percent about that.
