Demorie Tate

FSU football hasn’t brought in the best recruiting class the past few years, but they have still been able to bring in some difference-makers at defensive back.

They had Asante Samuel Jr. in 2018, Akeem Dent in 2019 and now have Demorie Tate in the 2020 recruiting class.

Tate is rated higher than both Samuel Jr. and Dent, checking in as the No. 38 ranked player in the nation, No. 4 cornerback and No. 6 player in Florida.

Tate has outstanding size and speed and went up against some of the best wide receivers at a couple of all-stars events and stood out among his peers.

He’s already posting numbers close to cornerbacks that have performed at the NFL Combine and projects as a first-round pick by some scouts.

Tate didn’t sign with FSU to sit on the sidelines. He’s not an early enrollee, but I expect him to challenge for the boundary cornerback position vacated by Stanford Samuels III.
