Teams Can’t Negative Recruit Right Now

I’m convinced Willie Taggart was never going to be able to get the players he needed to turn the program around.

The negative recruiting was too much to overcome because of the product on the field. All opposing teams had to do was put on the tape and ask a player if they wanted to join that unorganized chaos.

It was an easy decision and why FSU has struggled to land those impact players. Opposing teams can’t use those bullets since Mike Norvell is the coach now.

He can lay out his vision to each recruit and it can be believable because of his track record. They know you can win big at FSU, just look at its history and the fact they’ve won a national championship in the last decade.

They were Clemson before what Clemson is right now. Some players want to be a part of building something back to what it used to be.

That’s how Jimbo Fisher got impact players like Lamarcus Joyner, Christian Jones, Kenny Shaw and Telvin Smith in the 2010 recruiting cycle.

Norvell’s already started the process with Altmyer and Jennings.
