Mike Norvell’s Track Record

Willie Taggart had the same opportunity because he had had success at turning multiple programs around. For whatever reason, he just wasn’t able to get it done at FSU football.

Now, Mike Norvell has the same opportunity as he has demonstrated the ability to play winning football.

What he did with the program at Memphis speaks for itself. They were on an upward trajectory every year he was there and culminated in an AAC conference title and birth in the Cotton Bowl where they were undermanned and played toe-to-toe with a top 10 Penn State team.

Mike Norvell’s offenses have been among the best in the country for years. He can point to film and the stats to prove it too.

He’s shown the ability to make a quality hire after quality hire which is impressive, to say the least.

However, one thing that’s stood out with Mike Norvell is his ability to communicate and motivate.

The intensity is no show and the passion is evident. It makes you want to play for him and the coaches have said they want to work for him.

Some of them took less money to come and work for him at Florida State. It’s impressive and there’s nothing opposing teams can point to as a weakness right now to use as negative recruiting.

That playing field has been evened out somewhat now as a lot of that ammunition is no longer valid.
