FSU football: Huge 2021 recruiting target sets commitment date
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football coaches have been working hard on gaining traction with the 2021 recruiting class. Could legacy recruit Branden Jennings join the fold soon?
FSU football has three commitments in its 2021 recruiting class although only one of them belong to the current staff when Joshua Farmer committed a week ago.
We’ll have to monitor and see if the current staff honors the commitments of the other two players after further evaluation.
However, one player they would accept right on the spot would be four-star legacy linebacker, Branden Jennings.
Jennings is considered the No. 39 player nationally and No. 4 outside linebacker while checking in as the No. 6 player in the state of Florida.
He hails from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida, the home of former FSU QB commit Jeff Sims. Jennings is the son of former Nole Bradley Jennings was started at linebacker for the Noles in the late ’90s and was on the 1999 national championship team.
It should be noted Branden’s older brother plays at Miami right now. Jennings posted on Twitter he plans to make an announcement Friday regarding his commitment decision.
Jennings checks in at 6’3 220 pounds with 36 offers including all the big-time power five programs and will be physically ready to play as a true freshman.
He visited the Noles the weekend of January 25th for their Junior Day and met the new staff which is a good sign. He had also visited a few times while Willie Taggart was head coach.
FSU football holds all six of the 247 crystal ball predictions for him at this time.
Thoughts
If Jennings commits to FSU Friday it would be a huge statement for the new staff. It would be their first big-time commitment and an excellent cornerstone to the 2021 recruiting class.
Yes, it would be a legacy recruit, but as I noted, Jennings has another son who’s currently in Miami with the Canes. Here’s to hoping Branden chooses the Noles and helps give this 2021 recruiting class some much-needed momentum.
