What Mike Norvell Should Do

Mike Norvell is expected to have his in-home visit with Malachi Wideman January 30th or sometime soon before National Signing Day on February 5th.

It’s possible Ron Dugans and FSU basketball coach Leonard Hamilton could go on the visit as Wideman is expected to play both football and basketball wherever he decides to enroll.

He’s visited FSU a ton of times and has visited the other schools like Oregon and Tennessee who are recruiting him the hardest.

Oregon is clear across the country and Tennessee isn’t exactly lighting the world on fire in either basketball or football. Maybe Wideman just wants to get out of Florida? If that’s the case why did he commit to FSU to begin with?

I think Norvell should cut right to the chase and have Wideman either confirm he’s 100 percent committed and will sign early.

If he’s not willing to do that? I would ask him to go ahead and de-commit prior to National Signing Day. I think that’s a fair scenario for both parties involved as it’s not like he doesn’t know what FSU brings to the table.

I get it we’re dealing with teenagers and it’s an important life decision, but the complete 180 turnaround after his last visit to FSU is weird.
