FSU football is rounding out its 2020 recruiting class with just a few spots left. Three-star athlete Corey Wren commits to the Noles.

FSU football had several 2021 and beyond recruits on campus this weekend but is still working to solidify its 2020 recruiting class.

Mike Norvell said his offense was built for playmakers in his introductory press conference last month.

They added a versatile player in three-star athlete Corey Wren who visited Tallahassee last weekend.

It was his first visit to FSU football since Mike Norvell and staff were hired and he came away impressed with how they planned to use him.

Wren announced a few days ago he planned to announce his decision Sunday evening with 95 percent of 247’s crystal ball predictions trending towards the Noles.

He made those predictions accurate via his Twitter account Sunday evening:

Announcement

Wren is considered the No. 529 ranked player nationally and the No. 27 ranked athlete. He’s considered the No. 21 ranked athlete in the state Louisiana, FSU’s second 2020 commitment from that state along with four-star receiver Ja’Khi Douglas who signed during the early signing period.

He hails from John Curtis High School and stands 5’9″ 170 pounds with 34 offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Louisville, Maryland, Georgia, Baylor, Boston College, Arkansas, Arizona, Ohio State, Memphis, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and others.

Thoughts

This is a really good addition for Mike Norvell and staff as Wrenn can play both receiver and take snaps at the running back position. He’ll also likely be a participant in special teams as he has incredible difference making speed.

His addition puts the 2020 class at 20 commitments with about four or five spots remaining that will hopefully go towards the offensive line since that’s the largest remaining need in the class.
