The good news is there were a couple of true freshman who look as though they will be players for the Noles in the future.
Dontae Lucas was a heralded blue chip recruit for the Noles who was expected to start as a true freshman. He did start most of the season before suffering a leg injury in the Sun Bowl.
There are questions about how long he’ll be out with the injury, but if he’s able to recover in time he should be an important part of that unit going forward.
The other piece that emerged late in the season was Darius Washington. Washington was thrust into the lineup and showed well for a true freshman who wasn’t expected to play this season before he was injured as well.
Another true freshman in Maurice Smith saw action late in the season and didn’t look absolutely lost out there. It’ll be ideal for FSU to get some 2020 stop gaps from the graduate transfer market or JUCO ranks.
However, the 2021 season could see the emergence of players on the offensive line already on the roster
