FSU football needs to close strong with its 2020 recruiting class. However, the coaching staff is already on the trails for 2021.

FSU football isn’t wasting any time with its new staff on the recruiting trail. The staff seems to be looking to take advantage of their ties to being at Memphis as they’ve offered several 2021 recruits as of late.

The latest is four-star tight end Hudson Wolfe who hails from Savannah, Tennessee. Wolfe held an offer from Memphis while Mike Norvell was head coach there.

The Noles offered him Friday afternoon as he posted the news on his Twitter account while tagging FSU offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham.

One thing of note is FSU tight ends coach and Deputy Head Coach Chris Thomsen is already following Wolfe on Twitter.

Wolfe is rated as the No. 220 player nationally and the No. 8 tight end in the nation while checking in as the No. 6 player in Tennessee.

He already holds 22 offers from the likes of Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Miami and a host of other power five schools.

Thoughts

The Noles have to take advantage of those Tennessee ties while they’re still fresh as FSU hasn’t recruited that state hard with the past couple of coaches. However, that is the home state of Nole great Jalen Ramsey.

FSU football signed a tight end in the 2018 recruiting class (four-star Camren McDonald) but didn’t sign one on the 2019 recruiting cycle.

Three-star tight end Carter Boatwright signed last month during the 2020 Early Signing Period and plans to enroll early this spring semester. Getting a player the caliber of Wolfe would be big time as tight ends have historically put up solid numbers in Mike Norvell’s offense.

As with all recruits we’ll have to follow the visits as there are a lot of big time programs vying for his services. It’ll be a great sign if they can get him to visit in the near future.
