FSU football has a serious hole at the quarterback position. Here’s three reasons why 2020 is the perfect time to go with a new one.

FSU football entered the 2019 season with three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. It ended the season with two, one of them apparently couldn’t pass at all and the other couldn’t stop passing the ball to the opposing team.

This isn’t a bash James Blackman or Jordan Travis piece. However, the quarterback play we saw near the end of the season simply isn’t good enough to win with an offensive line that’s obviously terrible.

I think the old staff made a mistake trying to play two quarterbacks after the first three games, but that’s neither here nor there.

I’d like to pay respect to James Blackman for his efforts as he was never dealt a fair hand in his time at FSU.

He was asked to play as a true freshman who didn’t early enroll and then had three different offensive coordinators. All the while he was playing behind one of the worst offensive lines in college football.

Nevertheless, it’s over with and clear the starting quarterback for FSU football in 2020 isn’t on the roster. Which means it’s a perfect time for Mike Norvell to go in another direction.
