FSU football: Noles make top 10 for 2021 four-star Corey Collier
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football is working hard to finish up its 2020 recruiting class. However, 2021 four-star cornerback Corey Collier has Noles in his top 10.
FSU football is the home of playmakers according to new head coach Mike Norvell and they are in dire need of some in its upcoming recruiting classes.
It always helps when legacy recruits can fit that description which is the case for 2021 four-star cornerback Corey Collier.
Collier is the son of Cornelius Collier who played cornerback for the Noles from 1999 to 2002. He hails from Palmetto High School in Miami, Florida.
Collier is rated as the No. 64 player nationally and the No. 6 cornerback while being considered the No. 11 player overall in the Sunshine State according to composite rankings.
He has great length at 6’2″ and weighs 170 pounds. He already holds 36 offers from the likes of Clemson, Florida, Miami, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Penn State, USC and a ton of other power five programs.
Collier was offered by the old FSU staff last year and named the Noles among his top 10 list of schools on Christmas Eve.
Thoughts
The 2021 recruiting class will likely see FSU football take a number of defensive backs. They took 10 defensive backs combined in the 2018 and 2019 recruiting cycles while only have two committed for 2020.
The length Collier has would be ideal at his position as FSU faces a lot of offenses with huge receivers.
Although Collier is a legacy recruit the Noles will have to fight tooth and nail to land him as other schools will be coming hard.
As with all recruits, getting him back on campus with the new regime will be big as he had been on campus a few times when Willie Taggart was head coach.
This is the type of player Mike Norvell will need to secure in his first full recruiting cycle if the Noles want to get back to prominence.
