No. 23 FSU at No. 10 Miami 2016

834. Final. 20. 804. 19

The last win for the Noles against the Canes this decade and the last of seven consecutive. It’s also known as the “Block at the Rock” with DeMarcus Walker blocking a Miami extra point late in the fourth quarter to preserve the one point win.

The Noles entered the game as +1.5 point underdogs.

The importance of the block can’t be understated as it looked like Miami had all of the momentum had the game gone into overtime.

Dalvin Cook did what he always did against Miami, finishing with 150 yards on 27 carries. He also had a huge touchdown reception for 59 yards.

Miami opened up strong, opening up a 13-0 lead just before halftime. However, the FSU offense went 62 yards in just over a minute to get to range for Ricky Aguayo to make a 31 yard field goal.

The Noles scored touchdowns and a field goal on three consecutive possessions to take a 20-13 with nine minutes left in the game.

Miami forced a punt with just over three minutes remaining with Miami’s Braxton Barrios returning the punt to FSU’s 16 yard line. Miami would go on to score a touchdown on four plays before Walker came through with the huge block to seal the deal.
