No. 23 FSU at No. 13 Miami 2010

804. 17. 834. Final. 45

The game that really announced FSU was on the way back to prominence. FSU football went on the road as 5.5 point underdogs against the rival Miami Hurricanes.

The game was never closed as FSU opened up a full can of whip a** against the Canes. It was 24-7 at halftime and FSU poured in it on late in the form of running back Chris Thompson.

Thompson broke off a huge 80 yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter only to have it called back due to penalty. It didn’t matter as he proceeded to take the very next play 90 yards to the house.

That touchdown broke the will of the Canes for the next seven years as the Noles this was the first of seven consecutive wins.

Thompson finished the game with 158 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown. Jermaine Thomas had 78 carries on 16 carries and two touchdowns.

Christian Ponder was 13 of 22 for 173 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
