FSU football: 3 reasons Early Signing Day portends strong recruiting finish
By Kelvin Hunt
Final Thoughts
When I say the 2020 recruiting class could portend to finish strong, I don’t want you as a fan to assume I mean a top 10 class or anything like that.
i mean the class should finish strong in terms of being able to fill the remaining needs while taking some quality players in the process.
By quality, I mean players with are not necessarily difference makers but able to contribute with proper coaching and time in a legit strength and conditioning program.
As I mentioned, there’s about 10 spots left in this class and most of the top rated players have already signed elsewhere.
The likelihood of signing any five-star or highly rated four-star players to increase the class ranking is relatively low.
The good news is FSU’s average per player is on par with most of the teams ranked between No. 10-20 in the nation.
In fact, their average is higher than four of the teams ranked ahead of them in that range which means those teams are ahead because they have way more commits right now.
So if everything fall just right it’s conceivable for the Noles to finish with a top 15 class that meets a ton of needs.
That’s not the standard by any means, but it would be better than the previous year and a great starting point for the new staff to have a strong 2020 on the field while shooting for an elite class in 2021.
