Execution of Plan

I think what I like most about Mike Norvell and the coaches he has on staff right now is there seems to be a clear plan about how to attack the issues on the roster.

It’s clear the assessed things and determined QB, offensive tackles and defensive ends were the biggest needs and addressed them on Early Signing Day.

They missed on Morven Joseph but had Jarrett Jackson waiting from the transfer portal it seems.

I’m not saying Jackson was a backup and he’ll likely have more of an impact in 2020 than Joseph would have.

However, the fact they were able to help fill that need at defensive end with a player who will be eligible to play in 2020 was telling.

I thought the way Mike Norvell handled the quarterback situation with Jeff Sims was masterful. Some folk may call it luck, but luck is when preparation and opportunity meet and there seemed to be a method to the madness.

I think the coaching staff will have an opportunity to continue evaluating the roster as they prepare for the bowl game and identify and continue to recruit players they’ve already identified to help fill those gaps between now and February.
