Final Thoughts

I’ll admit I was not on the Mike Norvell hype train at first, but after doing some research for this piece I do feel better should he be named FSU’s next head coach.

I guess with any coach that doesn’t have ties to the state of Florida their will be questions. However, having ties(Willie Taggart) will not guarantee success either apparently.

One of Taggart’s biggest issues was the inability to organize the program. I use the car engine analogy all the time but it holds true.

You can have the best engine in the world with the best parts, but if it’s not all working together that engine will not perform at optimal levels.

The same holds true with a big time college football program. All of the little details from staff organization to deciding how to layout recruiting strategies to gameplanning for opponents.

The only question is Norvell hasn’t done any of it at a major program like FSU football and that’s the gamble one would have to take in hiring someone like him.
