FSU football: Fans react to report of Noles showing interest in Brian Kelly
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football is holding information close to the vest regarding its coaching search. Could they be interested in Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly?
FSU football fans seem to be all over the place with who they want as the next head coach of FSU football.
It seems all were aboard the Bob Stoops hype train a few weeks ago, but now there’s different pockets of support all over for all types of candidates.
There’s folk clamoring for Iowa State’s Mike Campbell, some are mentioning Penn State’s James Franklin and other names like PJ Fleck and Mike Norvell have been floated around.
One established name that sort of came out of nowhere the past day or so was Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly.
It was first reported on the Nolecast podcast this week that FSU football has shown interest in Kelly.
Some folk may be frowning their faces asking why Kelly would leave Notre Dame to come to FSU? Well, quite simply it’s easier to win in Tallahassee with FSU being in a recruiting hotbed and lower academic standards.
Kelly has routinely had top 15 recruiting classes the past few years and posts a combined 30-6 record over the last 2.5 years. They went undefeated in the regular season, losing to eventual champion Clemson in the College Football Playoff.
For whatever reasons, FSU fans seem to be all over the place regarding the news FSU could be interested.

Thoughts
I mean I think the odds of Kelly leaving Notre Dame are pretty slim, but who knows what’s happening behind closed doors.
However, fans turning up their nose at an established coach like Kelly who took over a struggling Notre Dame school and reached the National Title game in his third year?
Like the last tweet I posted, FSU football is in no position to turn its nose up at someone with the resume Brian Kelly brings to the table.
Yet, some of the fans want to hire a coach that has never even been a coordinator or head coach anywhere before?
This FSU program is a clear rebuild and much more of a rebuild than it was when Willie Taggart took over.
Kelly has taken a program from mediocre to very good, to struggling with four wins in year seven, back to making the College Football Playoff. If he’s interested, you talk.
