FSU football: Impact of David Kelly no longer being on staff

On-Field Coaching
It’s move a that makes plenty of sense being FSU has been down a coach on the defensive side of the ball all year.
As I mentioned, Edwards Sr. will likely coach defensive backs and it’s a position the Noles have struggled at the past couple of seasons.
So much it’s hard to reference FSU as “DBU” anymore with the number of big plays they’ve given up.
The secondary gave up a whopping 3,224 passing yards and 30 passing touchdowns in 2018 through 12 games.
The sad part is they are likely to surpass that yardage mark as they have already allowed 3,012 passing yards in 2019. The good news is they have at least cut down the touchdowns allowed in half thus far with 15.
Having Edwards Jr. there to assist with technique with those defensive backs can’t hurt and definitely is better than not having him.
He does have two weeks to work with these guys prior to the Florida game with the bye week this week.
