FSU football has announced they’ll tangle with the Alabama Crimson Tide again in 2025 and 2026. Fans react to the news and it’s different all across the board.

Remember when FSU football used to play anyone, anytime and anywhere? Well, it looks like they are going to continue that mantra in the near future.

The Noles announced they would be scheduling a home and home wit Alabama beginning in 2025.

It’ll be the first time the teams will meet since the 2017 opener that saw two top ranked teams go at it for the first time.

Of course, Alabama won that game and the Noles have been on a downward trajectory since. That seems to be in the back of some FSU fans minds when the news broke Thursday.

Thoughts

The FSU football fans blaming FSU’s current downward spiral on the loss to Alabama is pathetic.

That game did force FSU to start a true freshman QB that year in James Blackman, but that still falls on Jimbo Fisher for missing on QB recruiting targets.

The offensive line continued to get worse, so it was just a matter of time between that and the culture of the program to be exposed. I’m with the fans that are supportive of this move.

I’d much rather have Alabama come to Doak Campbell Stadium instead of playing at some neutral site.

FSU football fans and boosters pay good money for season tickets, so they deserve to have big time football programs coming to Tallahassee if they’re going to spend money to stay in those high-priced hotels and patronize local businesses.

I’ve long said it doesn’t make sense to play a difficult schedule anymore, but I understand the administration needs to find ways to boost ticket sales for home games.

At the end of the day programs need money to function at a high level and that’s one sure-fire way to do it provided FSU football is putting out a competitive product on the field.
