FSU football lost starting linebacker Jaiden Lars-Woodbey to an injury in the second half against Louisville. I look at the impact of his injury.

FSU football fans lost one of their most beloved players when Jaide Lars-Woodbey was injured in the second half against Louisville.

It was officially announced Monday by FSU football head coach Willie Taggart that he was done for the season with lower leg injury.

The thing about Lars-Woodbey is he’s as selfless as they come and bleeds garnet and gold. The former five-star safety enrolled early at FSU and changed positions as a true freshman in 2018.

He earned ESPN Freshman All-American honors while playing all season with a shoulder he injured in the first game of the year against Virginia Tech.

He made another selfless move by switching from last year’s position to an inside linebacker position.

However, after three games the defensive staff thought it would be better for the team if he moved to the outside position for the Louisville game.

The move looked to pay dividends early and the FSU defense looked as dominant in the first half against Louisville as they had all season.

They held Louisville to 2.84 yards per play in the first half. Louisville rattled off 17 unanswered points after the Lars-Woodbey injury.

Let’s look at the impact of what losing him for the season could be.
