This Team Could Be Close To Breaking Through

We saw what’s possible with this team through three-quarters. The offense didn’t turn the ball over for the first time in like two years or more.

We saw a defense that still missed some tackles through three-quarters, but played much better overall.

They forced Bryce Perkins to make throws under pressure and were effective against stopping the run much more than the first two games.

Players played with passion and actually performed well in a few pressure situations prior to the fourth quarter.

One of those was the Ricky Aguayo 53 yard field goal. Had he missed that I believe momentum would have swung back to Virginia even earlier than it did.

I thought it was huge the FSU offense marched 75 yards on eight plays to take a 24-17 lead immediately after Virginia tied the game at 17-17.

They showed some fight and didn’t just roll over like they did against Boise State. Again, it was self-inflicted wounds with dumb penalties, lack of execution on offense and missed tackles that did them in.

FSU football continues to beat itself in the second half.
